It's not my job — Ronaldo fires back after been accused of stealing

Al Nassr forward Cristiano Ronaldo has rubbished suggestions that he helped the Faris Najd ‘steal’ Joao Felix from Benfica, stating that he does not involve himself in transfer dealings.

As Pulse Sports reported, Felix signed for the Saudi Pro League outfit from Chelsea on a two year deal that keeps him at the club until 2027.

The Portuguese forward had been heavily linked with a return to Benfica, but the Saudi club entered the race and immediately gained the upper hand, completing the deal for €50 million.

Felix has already begun to shine for Al Nassr, performing brilliantly, and providing an assist in the 4-0 preseason friendly over Rio Ave. After the game, Ronaldo was asked about the accusations that he helped tap up Felix when he was Benfica-bound, and he immediately dismissed it.

"Stealing is bad form; no one has ever stolen anything from Benfica,” Ronaldo said," per Goal. “Everyone knows Joao; he's very talented. I think he'll help us a lot in the Saudi league, which is very competitive.

"You don't know him; you're not there, you don't show up, but we saw him at the Club World Cup.

“I think it was a better option for Felix than playing in the Portuguese league; just look at the number of stars there are in Saudi Arabia. Regardless of not playing in the Champions League, it was a very wise decision on his part.

"Calling him to convince him? I don't do that, I don't pick up the phone. It's not my job. You [journalists] said that, but my job is to train and play.”
