Simon reaches career milestone

FC Nantes striker Moses Simon won his 150th cap in Ligue 1 and set up his team's lone goal in their 1-1 draw with Angers.

Simon broke Emiliano Sala's record with the assist, marking his 29th for the team and making him the leading contributor for Les Canaris in that area.

The official Ligue 1 X (formerly Twitter) account praised Simon's accomplishment on Tuesday, with the caption, "Indispensable Moses Simon."

He has scored 27 goals and provided 29 assists during his Ligue 1 career at Nantes, who are now fifth in the standings after five games.

Among Nigerian players, Simon has made the fifth-most appearances in Ligue 1 (behind Victor Ikpeba (170), Taye Taiwo (191), Wilson Oruma (196), and John Utaka (239).

Currently with two goals and two assists this season, Simon is Nantes' top scorer in the Ligue 1.
