I am sad - Heartbroken Pogba vows to fight four-year doping ban
Former Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba has come out fighting after being slapped with a sensational four-year doping ban this week.
Pulse Sports Nigeria reports that the French midfielder was suspended from all football activities until 2027 after traces of a banned substance were found in a routine drug test.
Pogba promises to fight back
As reported by Pulse Sports, Pogba will be out of football for four years after he was found guilty of taking drugs.
Football was rocked when the French superstar was handed a ban from the sport after testing positive for a banned substance.
However, Pogba insists the verdict is incorrect and immediately outlined his intention to appeal the ban.
"I am sad, shocked and heartbroken that everything I have built in my career has been taken away," an emotional Pogba posted on his Instagram account.
"I have never knowingly or deliberately taken any supplements that violate anti-doping regulations."
The 30-year-old was adamant he would never intentionally gain an unfair advantage or disrespect fellow professionals.
"As a professional athlete I would never do anything to enhance my performance by using banned substances," he claimed.
Pogba only recently returned to Juventus after a second spell with Manchester United.
But his Turin homecoming quickly turned sour following a battle with injuries before the failed drug test shortly after he signed.
Juve have already terminated Pogba's contract over the doping ban but Pogba is determined to salvage his reputation and career by proving his innocence.
"When I am free of legal restrictions the full story will become clear," he promised.
The World Cup winner now faces a nervous wait to see whether his appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport is successful.
If not, the sublime career of one of football's most gifted talents could be tragically cut short.
