Morocco's Yassine "Bono" Bounou could be set for a big move this summer, but it is all dependent on Manchester United signing Andre Onana from Inter

Manchester United’s deal for Cameroonian goalkeeper Andre Onana could snowball into Morocco’s World Cup hero Yassine “Bono” Bounou joining Bayern Munich.

Manchester United closing in on Onana

Onana is on the cusp of joining the Red Devils as a replacement for Spanish goalkeeper David De Gea, who left Manchester United after 12 years at the club.

De Gea left the club after failing to agree a new contract with Manchester United, and Onana is believed to be the Red Devils main candidate to replace him, with a deal with the Cameroonian’s current side, Inter, close to completion.

If a deal for Onana, rumoured to be worth around €60 million, is finally completed, it could set about a series of transfers that sees Moroccan goalkeeper Bono sign for Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich.

Bono looking to make big transfer

After the 2022 FIFA World Cup, where Morocco shocked the world by reaching the semifinals, goalkeeper Bono, who was the team’s hero with a number of crucial saves during their dream run, was on the radar of a number of teams, but a move never materialised.

Bono, who won the 2021/22 Zamora, also helped Sevilla to a seventh UEFA Europa League title, ending up in the competition’s team of the season as well, and has subsequently been targeted by top clubs again.

However, a move to one of the club’s, Bayern Munich, is dependent on Onana joining Manchester United, which will allow Inter to sign the Bavarian’s current goalkeeper, Yann Sommer, forcing the Bundesliga champions to make a move for Sevilla’s Bono.

The Moroccan is believed to be a serious option for Bayern if Sommer leaves, but this depends on Manchester United signing Onana.
