Manchester City beat Juventus 5-2 to qualify top of Group G and keep their 100% record at the FIFA Club World Cup intact.

Manchester City secured top spot in Group G with a commanding 5-2 victory over Juventus on Matchday 3 of the FIFA Club World Cup.

City dominated early proceedings, and their pressure paid off after just 10 minutes. New signing Rayan Aït-Nouri threaded an inch-perfect pass to Jérémy Doku, who stepped inside and found the far corner.

However, their joy was short-lived. Ederson’s loose pass was intercepted by Teun Koopmeiners, who strode forward and drilled an effort into the corner to level the score.

City regained the lead soon after when Matheus Nunes fired the ball across the face of the goal. Juventus defender Pierre Kalulu, under no pressure, inexplicably turned it into his own net. Before the break, Omar Marmoush and Aït-Nouri forced Michele Di Gregorio into fine saves as Pep Guardiola’s side pushed for a third.

In the second half, Erling Haaland came off the bench and promptly made it 3-1. Further goals from substitutes Phil Foden and Savinho capped City’s five-star performance.

A late goal from Dusan Vlahovic couldn’t dampen the shine of City’s emphatic win.

In the group’s other match, Al Ain ended their Club World Cup campaign on a high, defeating Wydad 2-1 to avoid finishing at the bottom of the group.
