Guardiola resumes work ahead of new season
After a challenging season on all fronts, Pep Guardiola has returned to England to prepare Manchester City for their pre-season.
The start of pre-season training will be delayed due to the club's participation in the Club World Cup. Guardiola's return has been marked by a surprising new look.
The Spanish manager was spotted sporting a mustache on Sunday, the day before training commenced, signaling his desire for change both on and off the pitch for the 2025/26 season, hoping for a more successful outcome.
City's first official match is scheduled for August 16th, an away game against Wolverhampton, managed by VÃtor Pereira, in the opening round of the Premier League. Their only pre-season friendly prior to that is against Palermo in Italy, a week earlier.
So far this summer, City have signed five players, with the first four arriving in time for the Club World Cup: Reijnders, Ait-Nouri, Cherki, Bettinelli, and Nypan.
Departures include De Bruyne, Yan Couto, Perrone, Walker, Juma Bah and Scott Carson. The club is also reportedly looking to bring in James Trafford as a potential replacement for either Ederson or Ortega.
