Chelsea suffered a huge upset, losing 3-1 to Brazilian side Flamengo in their second game of the Club World Cup.

Flamengo staged a dramatic second-half turnaround to condemn Chelsea to a 3-1 defeat on matchday two of the FIFA Club World Cup, moving the Brazilian side three points clear of the second-placed Blues at the top of Group D.

Chelsea started the game on the front foot and did not have to wait too long for Pedro Neto to open the scoring.

The ball bounced between him and two Flamengo defenders on the halfway line, before kindly breaking for the Portuguese winger to race away and calmly slot past Rossi, marking his second goal of the tournament.

The Brazilian side stormed back after the break. Gonzalo Plata went close twice, then set up Bruno Henrique for a tap-in equalizer.

Moments later, Danilo headed in from a corner to give Flamengo the lead. Chelsea’s woes deepened when substitute Nicolas Jackson was sent off for a reckless challenge on Ayrton Lucas just minutes after coming on.

Wallace Yan sealed Flamengo’s 3-1 win with a late third, extending their winning streak to six and halting Chelsea’s run of four victories.
