After a run of 10 matches without a goal, Nigeria's Gift Orban is back and firing for KAA Gent across all competitions.

Nigerian football sensation Gift Orban is back where he belongs after leaving a significant mark as he scored a stunning hat-trick for KAA Gent in a thrilling five-goal clash against Breidablik in the UEFA Europa Conference League, UECL.

Despite being overlooked by Super Eagles manager Jose Peseiro in his latest Super Eagles list, Orban delivered a remarkable display to showcase his ability as Gent overcame their hosts 3-2 on Thursday night.

After what has been a turbulent start to the season which saw him go ten matches without a goal and lose his place in the Gent first team, Orban is back where he belongs.

The 21-year-old made a return to the starting team as they looked to take a closer step to book a ticket to the next round on the road.

He would celebrate his return in superb style after scoring an incredible hattrick to secure a third win in four matches for Gent in the UECL.

The Nigerian youngster scored in the 6th, 54th (via a penalty) and 69th minutes to wrap up a thrilling show as Gent avoided a scare in Iceland.

Orban’s latest goals took his tally to five goals in his last four matches across all competitions as he returns to form in style.

Super Eagles Oversight

On the night that Peseiro made public his squad for the start of the FIFA WCQ, with Orban missing, the Gent star chose to remind the Nigerian coach of his immense potential.

The hattrick against the Icelandic outfit will raise eyebrows among fans who would question the decision to leave out the Tottenham target out of the Super Eagles squad.

But despite the omission, Orban will be the happiest player at the moment as he has answered his critics in the best possible manner.
