Nigerian forward Gift Orban has silenced his critics after he netted a sensational winning goal for his club KAA Gent in the Juliper.

Orban came off the bench to help Gent secure a 3-1 away win at Sporting Charleroi on Sunday night.

The 21-year-old has come under heavy criticism of late after a run of 10 matches without a goal for Gent. It has been an unusual and testing time for the Nigerian whose place is not guaranteed anymore in the Gent starting eleven despite ending that run with a goal in the Conference League

However, against Charleroi, all that came to a half after he came off the bench to score the final goal in a 3-1 win for Gent.

Given the level of scrutiny he has faced, the Super Eagles invitee has not online replied to his doubters with the goal but also reminded them of his potential.

His strike was scored 10 minutes after he was substituted in the 80th minute as he finished off a right-footed effort from the right side and into the bottom left.

Other scorers on the night for Gent include Tarik, who opened the scoring in the first half and Julien De Sart, who doubled the advantage in the 59th minute before Orban came off the bench to seal the deal in added time.

The Super Eagles man has now scored three goals this season for Gent in the Jupiler.
