Liverpool's early dominance paid off in the 11th minute. Ibrahima Konaté's line-breaking pass found Dominik Szoboszlai, who scored with a wonderful left-footed finish.
Ipswich's chances were dampened further when Wes Burns suffered a serious-looking knee injury and was stretchered off. The visitors' woes continued as Mohamed Salah doubled Liverpool's advantage with a sublime finish from a Cody Gakpo cross.
Gakpo turned home a rebound from Szoboszlai's initial effort to make it 3-0 on the stroke of halftime, becoming the third Dutchman to score in five successive Premier League home games.
After the break, Ipswich focused on damage limitation, but Liverpool added a fourth goal when Trent Alexander-Arnold's cross picked out Gakpo, who headed home his eighth Premier League goal of the campaign.
Alexander-Arnold came close to scoring a fifth on two occasions, but Liverpool settled for a 4-1 win, with Ipswich scoring a consolation goal in the 90th minute through Jacob Greaves.
