Nigeria's new president, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is the source for Flying Eagles star Ibrahim Muhammad's goal against Argentina.

Ibrahim Muhammad of the Flying Eagles claims that his flawless goal against Argentina was intended for Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the new leader of Nigeria.

On Wednesday night, Muhammad opened the scoring for the Flying Eagles in a 2-0 victory over Argentina, the 2023 U-20 World Cup hosts.

In the 61st minute, the youngster punched the ball home after being set up by a beautiful pass from replacement Emmanuel Umeh.

In the 91st minute, Haliru Sarki made it 2-0 to secure a stunning victory over Argentina.

Ibrahim Muhammad dedicates the first Flying Eagles goal to Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Muhammad said in a post-game interview that playing against the home team didn't affect him or his teammates.

He dedicated his first goal at the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup to Tinubu.

“I feel so happy as you can see this is my first goal at the World Cup, so I’m very happy.

“We were never nervous before the game, we had the confidence, and with the way football is there’s nothing like host country. 

"And personally I dedicate my goal to our new president, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. and I really appreciate my teammates for their efforts to win."

The player took into account how they had defeated the host country, which was the clear favorite to win the Round of 16 match.

On Sunday, the Flying Eagles will resume play when they square off against either Ecuador or South Korea in the quarterfinals.
