Erling Haaland is proving inevitable: 4 Premier League seasons, 4 opening day goals for Nowergian goal machine
Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has once again demonstrated his inevitability by scoring on the opening day of the Premier League for the fourth consecutive season since his arrival.
The Premier League’s official social media channels were quick to praise Haaland after he found the net in City’s commanding 4-0 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday.
While debutant Tijjani Reijnders stole the spotlight with a goal and assist, earning deserved recognition alongside other new signings from Pep Guardiola, as reported by Pulse Sports, Haaland reminded everyone why he is one of the best finishers in the game.
Haaland strikes again
Haaland maintained his perfect opening day goalscoring record by netting a tap-in in the 34th minute before completing a brace just after the hour mark.
He had an earlier chance in the 20th minute but mistimed a jump and headed Bernardo Silva’s cross over an open goal.
There was no stopping the Norwegian eight minutes later, however, as he scored to put City ahead and set the foundation for a comprehensive win.
Later, Haaland was once again involved as he combined with Oscar Bobb in a one-two before side-footing past Wolves goalkeeper Jose Sa to make it 3-0. Substitute Ryan Cherki then finished off the scoring to seal the emphatic victory.
