Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface has finally opened up on his failed move to Serie A side AC Milan.

Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface has made it clear he bears no responsibility for the collapse of his potential transfer to AC Milan.

The 24-year-old Nigerian forward has had a difficult 12 months, including a failed move to Saudi Arabia, several injury issues throughout the season, and the collapse of his AC Milan transfer.

Victor Boniface refuses to take blame for Milan disappointment

During his unveiling at Werder Bremen, where he joined on a season-long loan from Bayer Leverkusen, Boniface addressed the media with his version of events.

"The Milan deal not going through, that's not on me. They decided not to go through with it," Boniface said, in a video posted on X.

"I have a strong mentality… If the deal was meant to happen, it’s meant to happen. If it wasn’t meant to happen, I move on to the next thing.”

The next thing for the former Union SG striker is a season-long loan at Bremen, where he will hope to return to his best.

Boniface scored 11 goals across all competitions in an injury-riddled campaign for Bayer Leverkusen, but will be eager to return to the form that made him one of the hottest strikers in Europe, and a key figure in Leverkusen's unbeaten campaign.

Bremen fans can expect their new Nigerian striker to make his debut after the international break, as they resume their campaign on the road against Monchengladbach.
