TP Mazembe joined Orlando Pirates to register emphatic victories on the final day of the group stages in the CAFCL.
After a goalless first leg in Johannesburg, the 30 June Air Defence Stadium erupted in an end-to-end clash. Pirates took the lead through Relebohile Mofokeng’s close-range strike midway through the first half, only for Fiston Mayele to equalise for Pyramids just before the break.
Mohau Nkota restored Pirates’ lead early in the second half with a superb low drive, but Ramadan Sobhi’s towering header quickly levelled the score.

The decisive blow came in the 84th minute when Mayele pounced on a goalmouth scramble to hammer home the winner, sparking wild celebrations among Pyramids’ fans.
Despite late efforts from Tshegofatso Mabasa and Mofokeng, Pirates couldn’t breach the Pyramids’ defence, who extended their remarkable 23-match unbeaten home streak.
