One such player is Japan's Yuki Kawamura, standing at just 5'8". He turned heads at the FIBA World Cup representing his country and, after playing 22 games for the Memphis Grizzlies last season (averaging 4.2 minutes, 1.6 points, and 0.9 assists), has now been acquired by the Chicago Bulls.

Who is Yuki Kawamura?

Born on May 2, 2001, Kawamura is a prominent name in Japanese basketball, ranking just behind NBA players Rui Hachimura (Lakers), Yuta Watanabe, and Yuki Togashi.

In January 2020, the point guard made history by debuting in the Japanese B.League's top division with the Chiba Jets, becoming the youngest player ever to do so.

However, it was at the 2023 FIBA World Cup that he truly announced himself to the world, averaging 13.6 points and 7.6 assists in 24 minutes per game. On the night of August 27th, he dismantled Finland with 25 points and 9 assists, leading Japan to a 98-88 victory.
