Chelsea star Thiago Silva reportedly set for summer exit, plans to return to former club in Brazil
Silva who joined Chelsea in the 2020 summer transfer window will be out of contract at Stamford Bridge in June.
The Chelsea player first played for the Brazilian team as a professional between 2006 and 2009 after spending time there as a youth in the club's academy.
The defender, who has been in West London since 2020, has made references to one last transfer and an emotional reunion.
Silva gives hint on Fluminense return
When asked if he might go back to Fluminense, Silva told TNT Sports as reported by the Sun, "This is a long-standing relationship, right? But I’d rather keep quiet now.
“I have a family, I have children. So we have to think about that too. It’s about seeing where to finish off this beautiful career."
Since joining Chelsea from Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer in 2020, Silva has been a crucial player.
In his debut season, he assisted the Blues in winning the Champions League. He has also won the Uefa Super Cup and Fifa Club World Cup.
Silva is still a regular at Chelsea despite his older years but the Brazilian could be set for a summer exit.
The former PSG defender could return to Fluminense where he started his career and won the Copa do Brasil in 2007.
Meanwhile, Under Mauricio Pochettino, Silva has played every minute of their Premier League season so far but the defender was furious with EA FC 24 rating, saying game developers don't watch football.
