Chelsea are reportedly prepared to make a fourth bid for Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo after several rejected bids.

The Blues have been interested in signing Caicedo in the past few months but Brighton have rejected every bid offered to them.

The Seagulls expect Caicedo to begin the new season at the Amex and have put an asking price of £100 million for his services.

Despite both clubs struggling to reach an agreement for the midfielder, Chelsea are not backing down and are preparing their fourth bid according to reports.

Chelsea still wants Caicedo

Brighton has thus far rejected offers of £60 million, £70 million, and £80 million from Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly for their midfielder.

Pochettino believes that Caicedo, who moved to Brighton from Independiente del Valle in 2021 for just £3.6 million, is the ideal midfield partner for World Cup winner Enzo Fernandez.

According to the Sun, Mauricio Pochettino is determined to sign the Ecuadorian from Brighton as a replacement for Kovacic who left for Man City.

Owner Tony Bloom has no interest in selling Caicedo for less than £100m, despite Roberto De Zerbi's statement that the player "deserves to play in another level" late last season.

After Chelsea's exhibition match against Newcastle, Pochettino was asked if his team needed a new midfielder, to which he responded: "That’s the idea. The club is working on that.

“We need to add a player there. We need one more with experience. It depends on the situation of different players. We need at least one more and we are working on that. It depends on what happens in the next few weeks."

Meanwhile, the two clubs yesterday reached an agreement on a £25 million transfer fee for Spanish goalkeeper Robert Sanchez to go from Brighton to Stamford Bridge.

The goalkeeper will complete his medicals in the coming days and sign a contract with the Blues, with Pochettino seeing him as a replacement for Mendy.
