Champions League: Osimhen confirms his plan with Galatasaray
Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has declared that Galatasaray are determined to make a big impact in this season's UEFA Champions League.
The Turkish giants have returned to Europe's elite club competition after a one-year hiatus. Their campaign began on a sour note with a 4-1 defeat to Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt, a match Osimhen missed through injury.
However, Okan Buruk's team has since mounted an impressive comeback, securing victories in their last two group stage matches against Liverpool and Bodø/Glimt.
Osimhen has been instrumental in this turnaround, finding the net three times across those two crucial wins.
What Osimhen said
Speaking to UEFA.com, the forward shared the club's lofty ambitions for their European journey.
“I spoke with the president when I arrived here and we want to really make a statement in the Champions League” Osimhen told UEFA.com.
” We want to show that, in Turkey, we are the team that the whole world will know this year because we actually did something amazing in Europe.
“We’ve dominated the league for years. We will keep on dominating it, but now it’s time to make a statement in the most prestigious games, Champions League games, because it’s beautiful when you play in the Champions League. So, for us, we want to make a statement.”
