Bidco won the Elite preseason cup last week, putting them in a good place when the season starts.

Bidco United head coach Anthony Akhulia wants his team to be competitive when the FKFPL starts this weekend, as his side will face Posta Rangers at the Thika Grounds on Saturday.

Bidco won the second Elite Pre-season cup just ten days ago, as he gave his players a chance to prove their worth in the team if they are to achieve the targets set out for them in the 2023/2024 FKFPL season.

Akhulia expressed confidence that he has the team to start the league, but hinted at wanting to make more additions to the squad if they are to finish in the top half of the league next season.

“I have the squad to start the league,” Akhulia said, “we are still not where I want us to be but we are capable of starting this season,” he added.

Akhulia is pleased with his side’s prolific nature in front of goal, and believes his side have forged a cohesion he is satisfied with, especially in the midfield department after preseason.

“We have been scoring in each and every game (during preseason)  that we have played which shows our attack is doing something. We have been scoring so many goals.

“The team cohesion. We have two sets of midfielders and both are doing so well, so I think as a team, the growth is tremendous.

Akhulia wants his charges to be competitive in all their matches this season.

“I expect us to compete, not just participate to  be among the top best players in the league. We have been struggling but I expect us to improve a lot heading into the next season.”

“We only need to compete. We only need to win our matches and see how it goes.”

Bidco finished 13th in the FKFPL on 36 points last season, winning nine, drawing nine and losing 16 of their remaining fixtures. They scored 37 goals, but conceded 36.
