Best in the world: Fans hail Victor Osimhen despite disappointing Galatasaray draw

Nigeria Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has been praised after he played a crucial role in helping Galatasaray secure a 1-1 draw against Hatayspor in the Turkish Super Lig, despite the team's struggles throughout the match.

The Nigerian striker scored from the penalty spot in the 56th minute, equalising after Hatayspor had taken an unexpected lead through Cemali Sertel's goal in the first half on Friday night.

Following the match, some of the fans took to social media to express their admiration for Osimhen's performance, even amidst criticism directed at the defending champions.

One fan declared, “@victorosimhen9 was my Man of the Match. He gave many key passes that should have led to goals, but his teammates were wasteful.”

Another supporter emphasised Osimhen's talent, stating, “The best player in the world at the moment. Bring anyone better than Osimhen.”

Osimhen's contributions were significant; he created three chances and made three key passes during the game, alongside taking two shots on target and three off target.

This performance saw him extend his brilliant form for the Lions so far in the league and strengthened his status as a fan favourite among the supporters, who recognised his potential even when the team did not perform to expectations.

Despite the disappointment of not securing a win against a relegation-threatened side, Osimhen's individual brilliance continues to shine through.

The 26-year-old on loan from Italian side SSC Napoli till the end of the season has taken his tally for the campaign to 14 goals and six assists across all competitions this season.
