Bayern Munich 2-1 Boca Juniors

The win followed Bayern's stunning 10-0 demolition of Auckland City in their opener, a game Kane watched from the sidelines.

The English captain wasted no time making his mark in the second group stage match. In the 18th minute, Kane pounced on a ricocheted ball after an initial failed attempt, expertly chipping it into the net to give Bayern an early lead.

The opening 25 minutes saw an attacking onslaught from the German champions, with 70 percent of all touches occurring in Boca's half as Bayern repeatedly carved through the Argentine defense.

Despite their dominance, Bayern struggled to convert numerous golden opportunities.

Kingsley Coman mis-hit a perfectly served ball from Serge Gnabry on the goal line, and Michael Olise found himself one-on-one with Boca goalkeeper Agustin Marchesin, who brilliantly smothered the shot.

Olise also forced a superb save from Marchesin on a free-kick, hinting at his eventual impact.

After withstanding heavy pressure for much of the first half, Boca, fueled by their passionate and largely pro-Boca crowd, mounted a spirited comeback.

Their breakthrough came in the 65th minute when Rodrigo Andres Battaglia intercepted a pass and delivered a perfect through ball to Miguel Merentiel.

The striker skillfully bypassed Jonathan Tah and unleashed a powerful shot past Manuel Neuer, igniting the stadium and swinging momentum in Boca's favor.

However, Michael Olise had the final say. The 23-year-old showcased his individual brilliance, weaving through a crowded penalty area before finally beating Marchesin to seal the crucial 2-1 win for Bayern.

With this result, Bayern Munich has secured their advancement to the knockout stage of the tournament. Boca Juniors, on the other hand, now face a do-or-die situation. To have any chance of advancing, they will need to defeat Auckland City in their final group stage match, which will take place in Cincinnati on Tuesday.

Bayern will wrap up their group stage journey on Tuesday when they face Benfica in Charlotte.

The outcome of this match, combined with Boca's result against Auckland City, will determine the final standings in Group C and who else progresses to the Round of 16.
