LaLiga giants Barcelona are keen on keeping hold of talented players for as long as possible and have shown their commitment to talent with a massive release clause in Lamine Yamal’s new contract.

Yamal set for contract renewal

16-year-old Yamal is set to sign a contract extension with the Blaugrana to signify his important role in the first team after making an astonishing impact in the Barcelona senior squad.

Yamal made his debut for Barcelona towards the end of last season and has continued to impress after making eight more appearances in LaLiga this campaign, as well as becoming the youngest player to play for the Blaugrana in the UEFA Champions League.

The three-year contract for Yamal will reportedly also include a €1B release clause, which guarantees that Barcelona can control the transfer future of their coveted star.

Other Barcelona stars have also received similar release clauses, including fellow youngsters Gavi and Pedri, who are also considered untouchables in the team.

Yamal has also made his debut for the Spanish national team, becoming the youngest player to score for La Roja in his second appearance for his country’s senior team.

All things point to a successful career for young Yamal, and Barcelona appear keen for that career to be with them in LaLiga.
