Another Barcelona player could win the 2025 Golden Boy award, continuing the excellent tradition of the famous La Masia.

Barcelona’s youth academy continues to shine, with its players dominating the Golden Boy award in recent years and securing the title in three of the last four years.

The club has produced four winners in total: Lionel Messi in 2005, followed by Pedri in 2021, Gavi in 2022, and Lamine Yamal in 2024. No other team has more Golden Boy winners, and Barcelona could add to their tally in 2025.

According to MD, Pau Cubarsí is currently the frontrunner for the 2025 Golden Boy award.

Tuttosport’s latest rankings place Lamine Yamal at the top, but since he won last year, he’s ineligible to compete again. This makes Cubarsí, who ranks second, the leading candidate.

Yamal and Cubarsí are the only La Liga players in the top 10, though Dean Huijsen, soon to join Real Madrid, sits in sixth. Paris Saint-Germain’s Désiré Doué is third, followed by Myles Lewis-Skelly, Warren Zaïre-Emery, Kenan Yildiz, Ethan Nwaneri, Geovanni Quenda, and Jorrel Hato.

Cubarsí’s lead isn’t guaranteed, though. Doué could close the gap, especially with his involvement in the upcoming Champions League final. However, Barcelona's 18-year-old defender is the current favourite.
