Barcelona considering bringing back former Man City star João Cancelo

Currently playing for Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal, Cancelo is admired by Sporting Director Deco, who sees the defender as a valuable addition to Hans-Dieter Flick's squad.

Flick has primarily been utilising centre-backs Jules Koundé and Eric García in the right-back position.

According to reports originating from Don Balón and cited by Marca, via Sportal, João Cancelo could be heading back to Barcelona after leaving the Spanish giants in 2024.

The Catalan club is considering bringing back the Portuguese full-back, who played for the Blaugrana during the 2023/2024 season on loan from Manchester City.

Cancelo could also provide cover at left-back, a position currently occupied by La Masia graduate Alejandro Balde. Gerard Martín is another option for that role.
