Arsenal kept their quadruple dreams firmly alive on Sunday evening with a clinical 4-0 demolition of League One strugglers Wigan Athletic at the Emirates Stadium.

Mikel Arteta's Arsenal stormed into the FA Cup fifth round with an easy win over struggling Wigan Athletic.

faced an early setback when Calafiori was forced to withdraw during the warm-up, but the reshuffled XI showed no signs of distraction.

Noni Madueke opened the scoring in the 10th minute, coolly finishing a one-on-one after being played through by the influential Eberechi Eze.

The lead was doubled just nine minutes later through Gabriel Martinelli. The Brazilian, who has been in sensational cup form this season, latched onto another Eze pass to fire home his 10th goal of the campaign across all competitions.

Wigan’s afternoon went from bad to worse in the 23rd minute when a dangerous cross was turned into his own net by Latics defender Jack Hunt.

The rout was completed before the half-hour mark by Gabriel Jesus. The striker, who has been working his way back to full sharpness, beat the offside trap to collect a lofted pass from Christian Norgaard before dinking a delicate finish over Sam Tickle.
