Arsenal has not made any further contact in six days, raising serious doubts about their willingness to meet Sporting's asking price.

Arsenal's initial offer of €55 million plus €10 million in add-ons for the Swedish international was never formally submitted. The Gunners reportedly realised it was unrealistic to expect a deal at that price, as reported by Sportal.

The London club subsequently increased their bid, but it still fell short, nearly collapsing the deal. Negotiations resumed, but with both sides entrenched in their positions, an agreement proved elusive. Now, the transfer appears to be on the verge of falling apart.

The last discussions between the two clubs took place on Monday, and there has been no communication since. Arsenal has departed for their pre-season tour of Asia, with friendlies scheduled against AC Milan, Newcastle United, and Tottenham Hotspur. Coincidentally, Sporting will play Benfica in the Portuguese Super Cup during the same period.

Gyokeres, who has a contract with Sporting until 2028 and a €100 million release clause, has not trained with the Portuguese champions for eight days and is facing disciplinary action.
