With Mikel Arteta's team continuing their pursuit of the Premier League title, Arsenal will play Leeds on Saturday for the first game following the international break.

At the top of the league table, Mikel Arteta's team leads second-placed Manchester City by eight points, with Pep Guardiola's team having a game in hand. The campaign's final two months should be interesting as both teams compete for the title.

To win the Premier League this season, according to Arsenal great Tony Adams, the Gunners must maintain six of their key players fit.

Arsenal’s injury crisis

Earlier this month, Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag stated that Arsenal had been fortunate with injuries and nearly always had a full team available. The Dutchman's assertion, however, has been widely rejected due to Gabriel Jesus's tardy comeback following a protracted layoff and Thomas Partey's ongoing fitness problems.

The Gunners are on the verge of winning their first title since 2004 and Adams believes the fitness of Jesus, Partey, Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli, Martin Odegaard and Oleksandr Zinchenko is key for the remainder of the season.

Speaking in an interview with the Sun, Adam said, "Playing in the Champions League next season will be a whole new ball game for this Arsenal team and it’s going to be really difficult for the current squad to compete at that level while also challenging for the title. We all saw what happened when Mikel rested a couple of his big boys in the Europa League the other week.

"The backup players looked bang average and were played off the park by Sporting Lisbon. At the moment they need Bukayo, Gabriel Martinelli, Martin Odegaard, Thomas Partey, Gabriel Jesus and Oleks Zinchenko playing every week because they have a team that almost picks itself."

The hunt for the league title continues

In their first match following the international break, Arsenal takes on Leeds with the goal of maintaining their Premier League title hopes. They have 69 points after 28 games, which is really impressive.

With the Gunners' strong campaign at the top level, Adams singled out Saka as a player who has struck his attention in particular. With 12 goals and 10 assists so far this season, the 21-year-old made history earlier this month by being the first to reach those milestones.

"Bukayo is absolutely on fire and the reason Arsenal are top of the table," Adams claimed. " Erling Haaland might be scoring hundreds of goals for Manchester City and Marcus Rashford is also having a phenomenal season for [Manchester] United. But Bukayo is, hands down, the Footballer of the Year because he was England's best player at the World Cup and he’s been the best player for the team eight points clear at the top of the Premier League."
