Chelsea legends have debated the better side between Arsenal Invincibles and the Blues 2004-05 title-winning team

José Mourinho arrived at Chelsea 20 years ago and built one of the finest Premier League-winning teams in history.

The Special One, along with Chelsea legends John Terry and Frank Lampard, recently shared their thoughts on the team's 2004-05 title-winning season, which saw them accumulate 95 points and concede just 15 goals.

What Chelsea legends said

When asked how their achievement compares to Arsenal's Invincibles, who went the previous league season unbeaten, Terry was blunt.

"I don't think there's any comparison between Chelsea 04-05 and the Invincibles. I think we were way better,” he said.

Mourinho chimed in, "Arsenal people, Man United people, Man City people, they don't give a about Chelsea 2004-05.. What matters is what we know."

Lampard, however, took a more diplomatic approach. "I think it [2004-05] matches what the Invincibles did, it matches what Pep [Guardiola] did at Man City in our own way. We definitely deserve to be in the debate and the conversation about greatest Premier League teams."

The trio's confidence and conviction are rooted in their dominant performance during the 2004-05 season.

Mourinho's meticulous planning and leadership played a significant role in the team's success.

"José used to pick out blocks of games and say three points here, three points there," Terry recalled.

Lampard added, "I recall the confidence with which José spoke from day one of pre-season... He would hold meetings and talk about blocks of games and predict the results to a really fine detail, and we generally delivered on what he said."

Mourinho's impact on the team was evident from the start.

"The reason I went to Chelsea was because of the meetings I had with Roman [Abramovich] and Peter Kenyon, and the objective from the club, before being my objective, was to win the Premier League as soon as we could," he said.

The Chelsea team of 2004-05 remains one of the greatest in Premier League history, and its legacy continues to be celebrated by fans and pundits alike.
