Arsenal vs West Ham: Gunners Seek Redemption Against Struggling Hammers After Shock February Defeat
Arsenal host West Ham at the Emirates Stadium in a Premier League clash that pits the high-flying Gunners against struggling Hammers.
As it happened
Mikel Arteta started an attacking line-up for the match with West Ham. The Arsenal manager has picked a midfield three of Eberechi Eze, Martin Odegaard and Declan Rice.
Nuno Espirito Santo made one change for his second game in charge. Kyle Walker-Peters dropped to the bench with Aaron Wan-Bissaka coming in.
Arsenal dominated the first half of the game as they have always done and created several chances before getting their first goal of the game.
Martin Zubimendi, who came in to replace Odegaard due to an injury, played a well-placed pass to Eze, with the midfielder hitting the ball one time, which was saved by the goalkeeper.
The ball rebounded toward Rice’s path and he did not hesitate to hit the ball into the roof of the net, with the Gunners taking the lead into halftime.
Entering the second half, Arsenal got their second goal after a foul on Jurrien Timber in the box. Bukayo Saka stepped up to take the penalty and slotted it home coolly.
