The Athletic reported that Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi called Fati and gave him a comprehensive explanation of his footballing philosophy and his role.
A statement on Brighton's website by De Zerbi about Fati's arrival said, “This is a great deal for all of us.
"I am sure Ansu will help us to reach a new target and we can help him get back at the level he deserves to be.”

Given that Brighton has Kaoru Mitoma on the left side of the attack, it would be challenging to fit him there, but Fati can play more centrally straight away.

Ansu will return to Barcelona once his loan at the Amex finishes next summer since he is bound to the club through 2027 and Brighton does not have the option to purchase him.
