Nigeria defender transfers from English League One side to the Moroccan top flight.

The 22-year-old defender joined Crawley Town last summer but struggled to establish himself as a regular, managing only one start in the English League One last season.

The former Bendel Insurance defender announced via social media that he left Crawley Town for Maghreb Fes, a club in the top division of Moroccan football.

The defender, who has recorded three appearances for the Super Eagles, released a statement on social media announcing the move:

“A new chapter of hope. Life has a way of bringing us full circle, and as I embark on this new journey, I feel an overwhelming sense of hope and excitement for the future that awaits.”

“I am truly grateful to announce that Maghreb FES will be my new home for the next three years, following my time at Crawley. I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone at Crawley for the kindness and support they showed me during my time there.

“As I step into this promising new chapter, I am eager to connect with the wonderful community in Fes. Together with Maghreb, I hope to achieve great things and bring joy to our fans and management alike. Yellow tigers, let's roar.”

Morocco would be the third African country Tanimu is playing football in, after playing for Bendel Insurance in Nigeria and Singida Black Stars in Tanzania.
