Ebenezer Akinsanmiro has joined the likes of Obafemi Martins and Joel Obi as Nigerians that have lifted the Coppa Italia trophy when Inter Milan defeated Fiorentina 2-1.

Ebenezer Akinsanmiro received a winners medal when Inter Milan won the Coppa Italia following their 2-1 win over Fiorentina.

This makes the youngster the third Nigerian to win the Italian FA Cup after the likes of former Super Eagles stars Obafemi Martins and Joel Obi.

Martins won it in the 2004-05 season and 2005-06 campaign during his early years with Inter while Obi was a winner in the 2010-11 term under the tutelage of Jose Mourinho.

The 18-year-old was listed on the bench for the second consecutive time running this season as he witnessed how the Nerazzurri became champions of the Cup in Italy.

The former Remo Stars player only joined the Serie A outfit this year and has found his way into the first team barely months after his arrival.

It was a nervy encounter for the Champions League finalist when they hit with an early goal from Nico Gonzalez.

But Lautaro Martinez grabbed two goals within the space of eight minutes in the first half which proved to be the winner.

Inter will be playing Manchester City in the Champions League final next month in Istanbul after defeating city rivals AC Milan on 3-0 aggregate in the semis.
