Among the newcomers are several promising players plying their trade in foreign leagues in Europe, signalling Chelle’s intent to deepen his squad options ahead of the tournament in Morocco.

Here are the ages, clubs, and stats of the 10 foreign-based new faces invited to the AFCON 2025 provisional squad.

1. Ryan Alebiosu (Blackburn Rovers, England)

Leading the pack is the already popular and young, versatile right back, who is an Arsenal academy graduate, earning his first senior call-up.

Alebiosu has impressed with one goal and two assists so far this season for the former Premier League champions in the EFL Championship. He comes in as a possible cover or replacement for the injured Ola Aina.

2. Tochukwu Nnadi (Zulte Waregem, Belgium)

Tochukwu Nnadi has been an ever-present this season for Zulte Waregem, delivering outing performances that earned him player of the month twice already.

A promising 22-year-old central midfielder, who is rewarded for his impressive season so far, will be adding defensive solidity and depth to the midfield engine room. He was a member of the Flying Eagles.

3. Ebenezer Akinsanmiro (Pisa SC, Italy)

A highly-rated youth talent on loan from Inter Milan iis another midfield gem expected to bring technical skills and creativity into the Super Eagles midfield.

Nigeria's number sports website Pulse Sports Nigeria has followed the Remo Stars academy graduate, who has provided one assist this season for Pisa.

4. Peter Agba (Maccabi Haifa, Israel)

Another central midfielder set to provide options for Malian coach Chelle as he looks to fortify the Eagles midfield which looked thin during the World Cup qualifiers.

Agba is known for consistency in the Israeli top flight and has been described by Nigerians as a player who 'sabi', a statement to what may have impressed Chelle.

5. Tom Dele-Bashiru (Gençlerbirligi SK, Turkey)

The 26-year-old brother of Fisayo Dele-Bashiru offers midfield depth and the possibility of playing alongside his sibling for Nigeria.

Regarded as a gem, at 19, this is the youngest foreign-based player in the group. A defender with a promising future, contributing one assist this season for his club.

The squad will begin preparations with a training camp in Egypt starting December 10 before the tournament kicks off on December 21.
