Lionel Messi waiting for Barcelona offer, ready to accept lower salary

Lionel Messi's future has been the subject of prolonged debate in recent months as he looks increasingly unlikely to extend his stay in Paris.

Barcelona are believed to be working frantically to bring the 35-year-old back to Nou Camp when his contract expires at the end of June. 

Several players and former teammates have added their voices to his possible return as the saga continues to gather pace. 

According to latest reports from Spanish transfer expert Sique Rodriguez, the Argentina captain has agreed to accept a low salary and Barcelona have assured him that they will get the deal done.

LaLiga president Javier Tebas has spoken about the possibility of Messi returning to Spain insisting the Blaugrana must comply with Financial Fair Play rules and the league's salary cap which will likely entail several players taking pay cuts.

 It remains to be seen how Barcelona pull this transfer off in the coming weeks.
