Daniel Dubois to face Anthony Joshua's former opponent
A rematch between Joshua and Dubois will have to wait for the second installment between Usyk and Tyson Fury
According to reports, Daniel Dubois will face Joseph Parker on February 22 instead of Anthony Joshua for the second defense of his IBF title.
A packed event in Saudi Arabia is anticipated to feature the heavyweight bout, which may also feature a rematch between Artur Beterbiev and Dmitry Bivol for the former's undisputed light-heavyweight title after their close fight in October.
According to renowned boxing journalist Dan Rafael, the February program would also feature a bout for the IBF welterweight belt between champion Jaron Ennis and challenger Vergil Ortiz.
Ennis just defended the red and gold title against Karen Chukhadzhian in a rematch last month.
Last but not least, he will take on a deserving opponent in Ortiz, another unbeaten fighter who just defeated Serhii Bohachuk via majority decision.
Agit Kabayel and Zhilei Zhang's all-action heavyweight bout is being considered as the fifth fight for February.
The IBF's top-ranked heavyweight, Kabayel, was initially scheduled to be Dubois' next opponent after he withdrew from a final eliminator match against Martin Bakole.
Instead, Parker is the front-runner to box Dubois, and he is being targeted for a battle with Zhang.
