Praised by Fury and Joshua, David Bankole Adeleye is now set to headline his own boxing event.

British professional boxer of Nigerian descent David Bankole Adeleye is set to return to the ring in February.

The 26-year-old is set for headline action when Queensberry makes a return to York Hall on Friday, February 17, 2023.

Adeleye was last in action at Wembley Stadium on Saturday, April 23, 2022, where Tyson Fury defeated British rival Dillian Whyte contesting for the World Boxing Council (WBC) heavyweight boxing title via technical knockout.

In an undercard fight in front of a giant crowd of over 90,000 fans in attendance, Adeleye defeated his compatriot Chris Healey via knockout in round four.

David Adeleye vs Dmytro Bezus

After over 10 months of inactivity, Adeleye will return to the ring to face a heavyweight contender from Ukraine Dmytro Bezus.

It is a return to the ring for Adelye after an injury that ruled him out of action for most of 2022.

Adeleye has a 10-0 record and takes on Bezus with an identical professional record.

While Adeleye has nine knockouts in 10 fights, Bezus has just five knockouts in his 10 outings.

Frank Warren who promotes Adeleye and the WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury explained what the showcase will do for the rising stars.

He said, "This is a great opportunity for Mark Chamberlain and David Adeleye to enjoy top billing at York Hall.

"I expect both of them to really push on this year and reinforce their status as two of the leading prospects in the country and this will be an important night for them after missing out on fights last year due to injury.

A win for Adeleye against Bezus takes him to the next level

Adeleye fights for the British flag and his country of birth despite his Nigerian roots.

He has sparred with WBC heavyweight champion Fury and also with British boxer of Nigerian descent Anthony Oluwafemi Joshua.

A win for Adeleye against Bezus takes him to the next level and could challenge a top contender such as Nigeria's Efe Ajagba who recently defeated American Stephan Shaw.
