Precious Achiuwa to New York: 3 Nigerians involved as Raptors trade OG Anunoby to Knicks
In a trade that sends RJ Barrett, Immanuel Quickley, and a 2024 second-round pick to the Toronto Raptors, the New York Knicks acquired forward OG Anunoby.
The Knicks have been targeting Anunoby for a considerable amount of time and are desperate to re-sign him as free agency this summer.
In the deal, they are also receiving guard Malachi Flynn and forward Precious Achiuwa.
In the last two years, Anunoby has emerged as one of the league's most sought-after trade assets.
Now, the Knicks have the chance to convince him to stay in New York before he becomes a free agent.
Ujiri, Achiuwa and Anunoby
Raptors president Masai Ujiri brokered the deal that sent out D'Tigers star Achiuwa, and Anunoby a British player born to Nigerian parents.
Achiuwa who missed the D'Tigers Olympic qualifiers in Lagos to concentrate on the Raptors now joins his 3rd NBA team.
