Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets received the Championship rings and then went out to beat down the LA Lakers.

Basketball is something that Nikola Jokic and the Nuggets make look easy, and they proved it against the Lakers on opening night.

After receiving their title rings and hoisting a banner, Denver jumped out to an 18-point lead in the opening quarter of play.

The Nuggets won 119-107 on opening night after holding off several Lakers surges, especially in the fourth.

Jokic ended with 29 points, 13 rebounds, and 11 assists for a triple-double.

Lakers struggle with LeBron James

While LeBron James was off the court, the Lakers struggled to execute a cohesive offense despite their otherwise strong play.

LeBron can't be the Lakers' best player every night if they are to succeed in their ambitions this season.

Anthony Davis ended with eight rebounds, two blocks, and 17 points on 6-of-17 shooting.

As the Lakers, who were also without injured point-of-attack defender Jarred Vanderbilt, Taurean Prince scored eighteen points.

Not the playoff bench, which was great, but the Nuggets bench looked better than it did early in the previous campaign.

Ultimately, LeBron scored 21 points on 10 of 16 shots to lead the Lakers.

With 20 more points from Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Murray finished with 21 as the Nuggets as a unit shot 41.2% from three.

Denver continued last season where it left off, which is problematic for the other teams in the league.
