Nigerian-Born NBA Star Ochai Agbaji Ties the Knot in Style
Nigerian-born NBA rising star Ochai Agbaji exchanged vows with his bride, Avery Brandmeyer, in a stunning beachside wedding.
The ceremony marked a significant personal milestone for the Toronto Raptors guard.
Photos of the occasion shows the wedding in a coastal backdrop with photos going viral on social media.
Agbaji, who proudly carries his Nigerian heritage on and off the court, has become a notable figure in the NBA since being selected 14th overall by the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2022 NBA Draft.
Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Nigerian parents, the 6-foot-5 shooting guard has embraced his roots.
Agbaji gets wedding
He posted a series of photos of the ceremony on his official social media platforms.
Along with the photos was a message that said, "The Agbaji’s 🤍June 21st, 2025"
It was also an occasion for Agbaji and his newly wed wife to announce the gender of their baby.
A statement with the post said, "When wedding day turns into THE gender reveal of the next Agbaji!!!"
Unlike Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze, who recently celebrated his Nigerian Igbo roots with a vibrant traditional wedding in London, there was no Nigerian-themed wedding for Agbaji.
This contrasts with a recent trend among Nigerian-born stars, Rangers forward Cyriel Dessers wed his partner, Rosalie De Ruysscher, in a stunning ceremony in Montalbano, Italy.
Tottenham Hotspur striker of Nigerian descent Dominic Solanke celebrated his nuptials near Lake Como, Italy, earlier this month.
