Nigeria 87-66 Tunisia: Okogie on fire as D'Tigers record blow out in 2nd Afrobasket group game

The D'Tigers of Nigeria destroyed defending champions Tunisia 87-66 at the Pavilhao Multusos de Luanda to move 2-0 in Group B of the 2025 AfroBasket tournament.

New Houston Rockets star Josh Okogie recorded a 33-point performance that contributed to Nigeria's massive victory.

Okogie was 6/6 from the free-throw line and scored from 12/19 attempts.

Omar Abada and Yacine Toumi of Tunisia both scored 13 points, but the Carthage Eagles fell to a 0–2 group record.

Caleb Agada and Ike Nwamu each made three-pointers as the D'Tigers jumped off to a 10-0 lead.

Tunisia who lost their first game against Cameroon could not respond to the pressure by Nigeria.

Nigeria finished the quarter with a 29–16 lead, and Okogie contributed 10 points on 4/5 attempts.

Okogie was on fire in the second quarter, scoring nine points, including two free throws and a three-pointer from a meter out from the arc to give Nigeria a 38-19 lead.

In the third quarter, Nigeria had all the answers and led by 20 points (63–43) with four minutes remaining.

Nigeria's offense was spearheaded by NBA player Okogie, who laid the stage for what would turn out to be a historic triumph.

This comes after D'Tigers recorded a blow out win against Madagascar in their opening group game.

Okogie's consistency will be crucial for the D'Tigers as Nigeria looks to advance further in the competition.
