The Denver Nuggets beat the Miami Heat in Game 5 to be crowned 2023 NBA Champions.

In Game 5 of the NBA Finals, the Denver Nuggets defeated the Miami Heat 94-89 to claim their first NBA title. The game was played at Ball Arena in Denver.

The Nuggets were led by two-time MVP Nikola Jokic, who had a game-high 28 points and 16 rebounds.

Jamal Murray added 14 points, while Michael Porter Jr. scored 16 points and grabbed 13 rebounds.

Bam Adebayo led the Heat for most of the game with 20 points and 12 rebounds, but it wasn't enough to offset Jimmy Butler's early troubles.

The Heat, an eight-seed that shocked the NBA by reaching this point, lost in the NBA Finals for the second time in the previous four seasons.

Before the 1976–1977 season, the Nuggets, who had spent nine seasons playing in the American Basketball Association since 1967, switched to the NBA.

In front of a boisterous home crowd, the Denver Nuggets managed to fend off the tenacious Miami Heat, giving the organization its first championship.

Thanks to Nikola Jokic who was crowned Finals MVP, the Nuggets were able to overcome a bad shooting night in a physical and sometimes sloppy back-and-forth contest.

The best news for Nuggets supporters is that their team are young and will continue to improve.

It's celebration time in Denver, as their key players are all under contract and young.
