Kishane Thompson ran an impressive season's best time to win the men's 100m event at the Racers Grand Prix.

Olympic silver medallist Kishane Thompson returned to recognition on an impressive note after blasting to the fourth-fastest time in the world this year to win the men's 100m event at the Racers Grand Prix on Saturday.

The Jamaican speed king raced to the joy of the home crowd, leading from the blast of the gun to the finish line to clock a brilliant Season's Best (SB) of 9.88s (0.0). Compatriot Oblique Seville was second in 9.97s, while South Africa's young duo of Gift Leotlela and Bayanda Walaza were third and fourth respectively in 10.04s and 10.06s.

Thompson's impressive time is the fourth-fastest in the world this year behind Trayvon Bromell's world lead of 9.84s, and Abdul-Rasheed Saminu and Kenny Bednarek's joint 9.86s.

Consequently, it's his second consecutive sub-10s time this year after his season's debut at the Shanghai Diamond League, where he clocked 9.99s to finish second behind Akani Simbine.

This proves Thompson is rounding up to form nicely ahead of the Jamaican Championships later this month, and he's back in contention for a medal at the World Championships in Tokyo this summer.
