Bromfield, who has been an integral part of Jamaica's relay team, has faced personal losses in recent years that took a toll on her passion for the sport.
"I started therapy like two years ago because my boyfriend is big on therapy and it felt as if I needed it too," she shared in a video on Instagram.
"I was basically suffering from survivors' guilt, and it was laying on my shoulders, but now I know I've got to live my life and just enjoy every moment I have because life is short."
Lyles, a renowned American sprinter and favourite to win 100m gold in Paris 2024, and his mother provided unwavering support during the rap queen Bromfield's recovery process.
"When I went to Florida, I wasn't driving, and his mum took me to training and back every day, which was a 40-minute drive. That's the kind of support I'm extremely grateful for," Bromfield expressed.
Bromfield's resilience shone through at the recent Jamaican Olympic trials, where she clinched her ticket to Paris.
She won the 400m preliminaries with a time of 50.74 seconds and then secured a third-place finish in the final, clocking a lifetime best of 51.24 seconds.
"I'm just so proud that I ran my own race because I could have gone with the whole field, but I decided to just sit back and wait for the 100m kick, and that's where I know I'm testing myself because I'm from the 800m and 1500m background," Bromfield added.
Bromfield's journey to the Olympics has been marked by her determination to overcome personal challenges and the beautiful support of her partner and his family.
As she looks ahead to the Paris Games, Jamaicans and athletics fans are looking forward to seeing her impressive performances on the global stage.
