'I want to leave this sport as the world's fastest man forever' - Noah Lyles reveals career legacy goals

American speedster Noah Lyles has revealed his career legacy, which would need him to surpass Usain Bolt's world records.

Lyles, who's currently the world's fastest man as the reigning World and Olympic champion, said he would love to end his career as the greatest sprinter to ever run the sport.

"In my career, I want as many world records as I can get. I want to leave the sport as the world's fastest man forever. But of course, someone will come along and break it either way, but that would be the goal every day," he said in an interview with Athletics Weekly.

With an embodiment of several medals in his name, currently capped by being a six-time world champion, three-time Olympic medallist, and the American record holder in the 200m event at 19.31s, Lyles is surely on the right path to achieving his goal.

The 28-year-old will be gunning to defend his sprint world titles in Tokyo next month, and if successful, will make him the first man since Usain Bolt to achieve such feat.
