Nigeria's hurdling queen Tobi Amusan is considering the possibilities of switching to the sprints as she's gotten better due to her new training group and tutelage under the legendary Glen Mills.

Following a mixed start to the 2025 season, World Record holder Tobi Amusan opened up on her strategy for the rest of the year, with great confidence on bouncing back to winning ways ahead of the World Championships in Tokyo.

In an interview with Jamaican athletics media outfit Trackalerts ahead of the Adidas Atlanta City Games, the Nigerian hurdling queen disclosed her season strategy and what to expect from her.

"Honestly, I'm going to be transparent. I think I'm doing more of sprinting than hurdling and that's really showing in my hurdles because I've done two hurdle races so far," she said.

When asked if she's eyeing a switch from hurdles to sprints, Amusan gave a candid answer:

"I love sprinting. But I mean, hurdling is my thing, and I feel like I can combine both. Hence, it's why I'm at the training group where I am right now."

Amusan has had a lukewarm start to the 2025 season with two 100m wins and two fourth-place finishes in the 100mH at the Diamond League.

In her first race of the season at the Velocity Fest 16 in Kingston, Jamaica, veteran hurdler won her 100m heat in 11.41s and lowered it to 11.28s to take victory in the final.

While she kicked off her Diamond League in Xiamen, clocking 12.74s to place fourth and lowered it to a new Season's Best (SB) time of 12.66s in Shanghai for the same position finish.

With the season still a long one ahead, Amusan will be gunning for better performances in her subsequent races to be in the best shape for a possible medal position at the World Championships in Tokyo this summer.
