With USA losing to Germany in the semifinals of the FIBA World Cup, Noah Lyles had the last laugh on his NBA and world champions statement, and has come for Drake's insult at him.

World's fastest man Noah Lyles has come for music star Drake for shading him on his 'world champions' dig at the NBA.

Lyles caused a stir when he declared that it was improper for American sports champions such as the NBA to refer to themselves as "world champions" since they only compete against American teams.

Drake was quick to join several NBA players in their criticism of Lyles for pointing out that a domestic championship is not the same as a world title.

“He thought this speech was gonna be so hard in the mirror the night before… now the whole league doesn’t rate u,” Drake commented on an Akademiks repost of Lyles’ comments with a series of laughing emojis.

Ironically, the multiple-track champion had the evidence to invalidate the shots fired at him as Team USA unexpectedly lost to Germany 113-111 in the semifinal of the FIBA World Cup.

In an interview with TMZ, the six-time world champion came for Drake, who has never played any sport at a professional level. Lyles seemed unbothered for the most part as he said: “Just go home, buddy. Go home.”

Then speaking to Chris Cohen of gq.com, Lyles was even more expressive about the Canadian Rapper knowing nothing about the NBA.

"There are a bunch of funny things that come from it, like having Drake notice it. Like, Drake, what are you doing here? Go back home. This is an NBA conversation."

However, Lyles believes the NBA remains the best Basketball league in the world, but there needs to be clarifications between the national and the world side.

"To be honest, I truly think the NBA is the best. That was never the doubt. But, there is a level of not understanding the two sides of sports. There's the national side and there's the world side, and you can't have the world championship title without facing the rest of the world."
