Track star Gabby Thomas played a vital role in Coco Gauff's Roland Garros title win by copying an addiction of the Olympic champion before going into a final.

Tennis star Coco Gauff has revealed how Olympic champion Gabby Thomas was a vital motivation in winning her first Roland Garros title in France on Saturday.

The 21-year-old won her second career major title at the Roland Garros, defeating world No.1 Aryna Sabalenka in a three-set thriller of 6-7, 6-2, 6-4, to become the first American player to win a singles title at the French Open since the legendary Serena Williams (2015).

She also became the youngest from America to achieve the feat since her decorated compatriot in 2002.

Following her mesmerizing victory, Gauff took time out to share on her Instagram story how track queen Thomas motivated her to accomplish the feat.

The newly crowned Roland Garros champion shared a note with the writing: "I will win French Open 2025, I will be French Open champion 2025," and then captioned it: "Ignore my handwriting but I saw Gabby Thomas do this, had to do the same. Lol."

Gauff thereafter shared a June 8, 2021 note of herself writing: "I had a dream last night that I will win the French Open idk if it is true or if it is this years french open but it had a dream about it."

Also captioning the screenshot: "Ignore the typos but look at date. If you can dream it, you can do it."
