Akani Simbine made it 4/4 wins this season with effortless victory at Adidas Atlanta City Games.
South Africa's sprint legend Akani Simbine continued with his unbeaten 2025 season form, blazing to an effortless 100m victory at the Adidas Atlanta City Games.
The veteran sprinter was class apart in the men's 100m event, first winning his heat in a modest 10.13s (1.7) as Nigeria's Udodi Onwuzurike clocked a Season's Best (SB) of 10.20s for second.

In the final, Simbine upped his performance with a brilliant 9.86s (2.3m/s), which would have been a new world-leading time but for the excessive wind reading. Onwuzurike settled for second again in 10.05s, while Jamaica’s Deandre Daley was third in 10.12s.
Simbine is now unbeaten in four out of four 100m races this season, thus continuing to strengthen his bold claim of challenging for a medal at the World Championships in Tokyo this summer.
He currently has the world-leading time of 9.90s, and with more races as the season progresses, it's only a matter of when he's going to break it.
