Black and Proud: How Junelle Bromfield intends to inspire Jamaican children through her 'melanin-inspired' wedding with Noah Lyles

Noah Lyles' fiancee Junelle Bromfield has revealed how she intends to inspire Jamaican children through her 'melanin-inspired' wedding set for spring 2026.

The highly anticipated wedding between Bromfield and Noah Lyles will be one for the ages as the lovebirds disclosed never-before-heard details on preparations in an exclusive interview with The Knot - Their first magazine cover appearance.

Bromfield stated she'd love for Jamaicans to be in charge of everything about her look on the day.

"I'm trying to get like, like, as much Jamaicans involved as possible. So my makeup artist can be Jamaican or from the Caribbean, got my dress Jamaican, everything.

On the wedding theme, the two-time Olympian said it'll be all shades of melanin and intends to inspire Jamaican children with it.

"The theme of the wedding is All Things Melanin, All Shades Melanin," said the Jamaican 400m queen, an Olympic and World championships medallist.

"I wanted everybody in the wedding to be all shades of melanin, not just the bridal party because I love my skin complexion. I love my hair, I love everything about being black," Bromfield added.

"I want black children out there in Jamaica to know that they're beautiful, and they need to know to love themselves. And no matter what people say, only the people around them matter," she concluded.

Bromfield has faced her fair share of online abuse because of her melanin colour and she has been an advocate of young girls embracing their skin and look no matter the circumstances they face.

Lyles proposed to her in October 2024 in a private, romantic setting attended by close friends and families. Their engagement made news headlines globally, and now people can't wait for their wedding, anticipated to have the same global effects.

Both champions in their rights, Lyles is the Paris Olympics and World 100m champion, while his fiancee is also an established athlete who's a two-time Olympian.
