World champion in the women's 100m Sha'Carri Richardson revealed that winning the world title in Budapest has brought unity between Jamaica and the USA.
The American track queen, against all odds, blazed to the 100m title in a Championship Record (CR) and Personal Best (PB) of 10.65s, dethroning the Jamaican dominance in the event since 2017.

She overcame the challenges posed by Shericka Jackson, who settled for the silver medal in 10.72s, and defending champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce was third in 10.77s.
Interestingly, post-race, the three women were hugging, taking picture selfies and viral videos with fans - a rare understanding between Jamaican and American athletes.

Also, in the 200m final, following Jackson's victory in a CR and the second-fastest time in history of 21.41s, Richardson was the first to hug and congratulate her on the historic feat despite her settling for the bronze medal in a PB of 21.92s, and teammate Gabrielle Thomas won silver in 21.81s.

Shericka Jackson storms to 200m Championship Record to become two-time World Champion
Shericka Jackson ran a blazing 21.41s to win her second consecutive 200m world title at the World Championships in Budapest.
"I'm glad the win I had in the 100 actually has brought unity. Even though we're competitors, that doesn't mean we have to be enemies," said Richardson.
Both ladies are expected to be healthy competitors for many years as they're the top two in the women's sprints.
